Challenge with a wireless surround system
My apologies should I be in the inappropriate thread. I am in search of some help and advice concerning how to install some surround sound speakers. I'm operating my rear speakers wireless using a 5.8 GHz cordless speaker set. The transmitter ordinarily goes into standby mode when there is no music. However, my AV receiver will forever transmit a slight hum during times of standby which will keep the transmitter awake. The problem thence is that my wireless amplifiers also will remain on all the time. That will waste some electrical power. But more importantly my speakers will keep emitting exactly the same sound that my AV receiver sends out to the transmitter. I have already been considering putting in some sort of switch to detach the audio link between my surround receiver and the cordless transmitter yet that solution would not appear elegant. I'd love any sort of tips.
